Naturalization Requirements and Eligibility
1,095-Day Physical Presence Rule
Applicants must accumulate at least 1,095 days (3 years) of physical presence in Canada during the 5 years prior to applying.
- Pre-PR Credit: Days spent as a temporary resident count as half-days (up to 365 days maximum).
Additional Requirements
- Income Tax Filing: Filed personal taxes for at least 3 tax years within the 5-year window.
- Language & Knowledge Test: Applicants aged 18–54 must meet CLB 4 language level and pass the Canadian Citizenship Test.
