College Diplomas & Certificates High School completion certificate or post-secondary diploma depending on certificate level. DLI Acceptance Letter. IELTS Academic (6.0+ overall) or CELPIP/PTE. Proof of tuition payment + required living expense funds. Off-campus work allowed during study semesters; full-time work during scheduled academic breaks. Eligible for PGWP (length matches program duration, min. 8 months required) → In-Demand / Trade PNP Streams.
Primary & Secondary Schooling (K–12) Acceptance from a public school district or private accredited institution. Parent/Guardian custodian arrangements. Language assessment on arrival. Financial proof showing family capability to fund tuition and living costs. No work privileges for minor students. Accompanied parent may apply for a Visitor Visa or Work Permit. Transitions into Canadian post-secondary education with enhanced PR scoring opportunities later.

Core Requirements for a Canadian Study Permit Application

  • Designated Learning Institution (DLI) Acceptance: Must hold an official Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from an approved Canadian university, college, or learning institution.
  • Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL): Most undergraduate and college applicants must include a valid PAL issued by the province or territory where they plan to study.
  • Proof of Financial Support: Must demonstrate sufficient unencumbered funds to cover first-year tuition fees, living expenses, and return transportation costs for yourself and accompanying family members.
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP) & Genuine Student Intent: A compelling study plan explaining why you selected your specific program, how it fits your past background, and your ties to your home country.
  • Medical & Character Approvals: Passing an Immigration Medical Examination (IME) and providing police certificates showing no criminal record.
