Core Eligibility & FSW Points Pass Mark
- 67/100 Pass Mark: Applicants must score at least 67 out of 100 points on the Federal Skilled Worker selection grid to be eligible to enter the Express Entry pool.
- Express Entry Pool (CRS Score): Meeting the 67-point pass mark qualifies you to submit a profile. Selection for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) depends on your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score or Category-Based selection draws.
- Proof of Settlement Funds: Unless currently authorized to work in Canada with a valid job offer, applicants must demonstrate sufficient unencumbered settlement funds based on family size.

Core Eligibility Requirements for the Federal Skilled Trades Program
- Skilled Trade Work Experience: Must have accumulated at least 2 years of full-time work experience (or equivalent part-time) in an eligible skilled trade within the 5 years prior to applying.
- Job Offer or Trade Certification: Must possess either a valid full-time job offer for a total period of at least 1 year OR a Certificate of Qualification in your skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority.
- Language Benchmark (CLB): Meet minimum language thresholds: CLB 5 for Speaking and Listening, and CLB 4 for Reading and Writing in English or French.
- NOC Occupational Compliance: Your work history must match the essential duties set out in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) description for your trade under eligible TEER 2 or 3 trade groups.
- Settlement Funds & Security: Demonstrate sufficient settlement funds (unless currently authorized to work with a valid job offer) and pass medical and police background clearance.
